Purchase a wood filler strip from a home improvement store. These are traditionally used for installing corrugated roofing, so you’ll find them by the roofing supplies. An 8-foot segment cost me $3.50 at Lowe’s.

Measure your shelf. Cut wood strips to size.

Paint the strips to match your shelf, or paint them a contrasting shade for a more eclectic look.

Add to the bottom of the shelf with small finishing nails.
