stamp fabric before sewingI finally bought a dress form last month! I was lucky enough to find it in the clearance section of my Wal-Mart. It's fully adjustable so I can make my patterns fit perfectly. I've always shied away from sewing clothing for myself, because it's such a hassle to stop sewing, put on the garment, then try to pin and mark while wearing it. Too much work! But with my new dress form, I couldn't wait to get started.

A book press is used to flatten text blocks or books while bookmaking. It can also secure pages while gluing, and will minimize warping from the glue. They can cost hundreds to buy, but you can make your own simple version in 10 minutes for around $10.  If you're interested in learning the art of bookmaking, start with this project!
