I made this photo mat as a gift for my mother-in-law. It features pictures of all the grandchildren.

Treat the entire mat like a sheet of scrapbook paper… you’re allowed to go outside the lines! I began by distressing the mat with the brown ink.

Then I mounted patterned paper behind each frame.

Next I added a photo of each grandchild.

Finally, I embellished the remaining frames with chipboard tags, flowers, etc. I also spelled out Grandma’s last name at the top.

Add a frame and you have a lovely gift!
