Paint all the blocks first.

While they dry, cut paper squares 1/2 inch smaller than the face of your blocks (when you adhere them, you should have 1/4 inch border on each side). I recommend glue dots to adhere paper and embellishments.

Go crazy with the rub-ons, the more you have, the better it look.
