Neon is back! Today’s trend pairs a neutral with a pop of neon color.
Tips:
1
For this layout, I’m using a variety of frame and journaling stamps. I’ve collected these acrylic stamps over the years, and most were only $1. If you see stamps in your craft store’s dollar spot, snag them, because they’re a good investment and you’ll use them again and again.
2
Select a dark colored stamp pad. I prefer StazOn because it dries quickly and doesn’t bleed when you add other ink to it.
How to:
made with
1 Stamp frames over the page, leaving a spot in the upper and lower corners for titles.
2
Add a title for your layout. I’m using foam stickers in neon pink. My page is about things I love, but it would also work well as a recap of events from the previous month, a place to write down goals, or a collection of favorite quotes.
3
Now comes the fun part– adding the color. You can doodle, outline, color, and write. The Gelly Roll Moonlight® pens stand out beautifully against the dark paper.
4
To add journaling inside your frames, first write it with a Moonlight® pen, then trace with a black pen. This will make your letters look like they’re outlined with a neon glow. I prefer a Pigma® Micron® pen for journaling… it’s archival quality, so it’s safe for my scrapbook, and it has an ultra-fine tip that gives me the precision I need.
5
Next I’ll fill in some of the blank spots to give the page a sense of movement, and to draw the eye down the page.
6
I’m going to add interest with pops of neon patterned paper. I’m using a 1-inch circle punch as well as an arrow punch. (All of these scraps are from Scenic Route paper lines.) The easiest way to adhere these is to add a little scribble of adhesive on the paper with the Quickie Glue™ pen, then to place the shape on top.
Not only was this layout fun to make, but it’s endlessly adaptable. Consider using neutral and neon on cards, mini albums, and gift tags.

I love this layout! Great style, love the neon against the kraft, and the way you made the design go off the page.
I love all your videos and especially the lettering tutorials! The glue pen is something new to me. :)
