Make a cute headband from the sleeves of an old sweater.
How to:
made with
1
Cut off a sleeve from an old sweater. Remove the shoulder portion so that you have a straight edge on the end of the sleeve. Wrap the sleeve around the person’s head who will be wearing it. Trim to fit. This is for my daughter, so I’m removing the cuff so it will fit.
2
Fold the sleeve in half and use a zig zag stitch to sew the two ends together. Turn the sleeve so the seam is on the inside.
3
Now we’ll use the shoulder portion to make flowers. Cut a couple of strips, about an inch and a half wide. Then cut circles out of felt to use as the backing for your flower.
4
I want one of my flowers to be big and full, so I’m going to loosely coil a sweater strip on top of a felt circle. Then sew it in place using a needle and thread.
5
I want my second flower to be a tighter bud, so I’m going to twist this strip and roll it tightly to make a flatter blossom. Then lay it on a felt circle, and sew tightly onto the sweater band.
6
Finally, sew on a few pearl beads in the center of each flower.
